Autumn Home Tour

DIY· Seasonal Home Tours

Happpyyy Friday guys!

Today is THE day! I am sharing my whole home, all spruced up for fall with y'all! And I am so so so honoured to be partnering up with some vivacious Instagram friends to bring you an Autumn Home Tour Blog Hop! If you are stopping by here from Christina's page at Christina's Adventures, welcome!!

So lets get this party started shall we?!? My whole goal for Autumn (I feel so posh saying autumn heheheh) and the decor around it was to keep SIMPLE. I didn't want to spend a ton of money and I wanted to buy decor (i.e. foliage/stems/florals) I could easily re use. You can read more about this process HERE . But essentially, I had a budget and I stuck to it!

Our front entry way has two sections, if you will. One is where we recently put up shiplap [See that transformation HERE and where we put on our shoes etc in the morning.

I kept it.. you guessed it.. SIMPLE. I hung up a blanket scarf that I had received in my Fab Fit Fun Subscription Box last fall, a framed print I had gotten on my travel to Boston a couple of years ago, and I simply filled up the versatile galvanized basket from Hobby Lobby with fall-ish stems and some vintage books!

And this super cute pillow by Linen and Ivory added the little touch of fall. The only new thing I purchased for here was the pillow case itself. Everything else was in my decor stash or my mini store in the garage 😉

Then, as you walk in, we have two additional nooks or spaces that I have created - one is where we have our vintage singer machine console table, which we built ourselves.. Check that post out HERE  . I blogged about a little tour for this "Mint and Cotton Entryway"  and how I was inspired by cotton stems this year and wanted to incorporate them to add this perfect neutral touch along with a non-traditional fall colour palette: muted mints, navy blue and some copper!

I also stayed in my budget by making this super easy peasy fall arrangement [Check that out HERE] with stems and foliage I purchased from Michael's and a crate that I had from last year. I am all about repurposing stuff around here!!

This little seating area is right across the console table above and is super simple, with an extra dining chair from our dining room and a throw pillow and cute throw! Add in some mint pumpkins and cotton stems, and voila! Fall is here!

Next.. as you walk in past this hallway, you see our dining room - which also got a little makeover this Fall. We did a fresh coat of paint in Sherwin William Alabaster and oh my gosh guys! This room is so much brighter already! It gets the least amount of light in the whole house, but you will be so surprise at what a coat of a GOOD white can do to a dull and dark space! I also added in these pocket doors that I had salvaged from a family friends renovation 3 years old onto the walls to give it some fun character. I painted the doors in Sherwin Williams Sea Salt and they are simply hung on the wall using long screws and molly's in the back!Nothing fancy.. because this girl is all about the SIMPLE!

You can check our the whole tablescape and all the fun details.. like the book page runner all HERE - and how vintage books inspired me for this room. I also DIY'd those cute book page wreaths! They are SOOO easy and took me one whole episode of Game of Thrones to craft on an exciting Saturday night 😉 Blog post on this DIY coming soon! But do checkout the DIY for the faux framed Shiplap in our dining room HERE

Heading on over to the family room, I kept it all super simple! I mean we are all about simple, super easy and functional decor, right?

I mean, literally i wrote autumn on book pages and strung them together and called it my decor 😀 easy, simple AND inexpensive and it looks cute!

The last space I cozied up was our bedroom - and by cozied, I mean threw a turkish throw across the bed and called it a day!

And and I am go glad that as I am writing this post for you to read, Autumn has FINALLY arrived here! It was a sizzling September but I am over the moon that its cooling down for me to actually snuggle in all my throw blankets and hibernate a little. After the crazy summer we have had, I need the longer nights and hibernation! I hope you enjoyed visiting my blog and will subscribe to

Now, head on over to Sarah's page at Grace in my Space  and check out how she spruced up her beautiful home with some stunning fall colours!
