Today I’m sharing our Board and Batten Hallway Makeover! I knew this was going to be a big challenge for me, and if I’m being honest, there were moments when I thought I wouldn’t finish it. But, I did it! I finished this hallway in 9 days… which also means that I failed to post every week along with my blogging friends, but regardless, this is a win!
I hope you will stop by the One Room Challenge Blog and check out all the incredible spaces being revealed today! I am for sure going to be checking them out, and hope you will to! Click here to go to all the blog posts!

Alright… here’s what I started with:

When I’m tackling a space, I always find it helpful to start with creating a vision board. This is what I use to decide the primary colour scheme, textures, as well as items that I’d like to bring into the space. Here’s what I came up with:

First up, the Board and Batten: I managed to finish this entire hallway in just one day and I am so happy with how it turned out!

Next, I got to work painting. I decided to go with the colour Argos by Sherwin Williams.
And voila! Doesn’t it look so much brighter? I know what you’re thinking… where is the beautiful rug from the vision board? Well… somehow, I managed to order the wrong size! And when I went to order the frames I had in mind – they were out of stock. I was feeling pretty frustrated at this point, but I had come this far and wasn’t ready to give up on this makeover. So, I did exactly what I would tell anyone else to do… I shopped my home! From room to room, I looked at what I have and considered whether it would work in my hallway and tada! I snagged these gold frames from my office and a sign from my basement to create this asymmetrical look. What do you think? Should I add a colorful rug or leave it as is?
Before I leave… here is a mandatory before and after shot!

Also, come and say hello on Instagram if you are new around here – I would love to have you!
Hugs!
