Honestly, these past few weeks have felt like so very heavy with all that has been going on in the world, in my personal live and at work. I was so so glad when this weekend came around, and I was able to get away for a day or so with Shafi.
We were graciously invited by Hockley Valley Resort in Orangeville, Ontario to come and visit them. We have been to Hockley Valley Resort in the past for skiing and it is a wonderful place. So when this opportunity came up, we were both very excited!
Hockley Valley Resort is a local golf, ski, and spa resort located in Orangeville, ON. The luxury 104-room resort boasts an award-winning spa, an 18-hole championship golf course, 16 ski and snowboarding runs, indoor and outdoor pools and several restaurants and bars!
On our first day, we checked in, and got comfortable in our room that overlooked the stunning golf course.
We went to check out a provincial park that is close by, Mono Cliffs Provincial Park, and did a 5k hike.
That surely worked up an appetite, and we had dinner at one of the restaurants, Cabin. One of the incredible things about Hockley Valley Resort, and cabin is that they truly embody the concept of farm-to-table. Almost all of the fruits and vegetables are grown on the resort it self and used not only at Cabin, but all of the restaurants at Hockley Valley Resort. We sampled several delectable appetizers including the warm olives and fig and squash bruschetta. For dinner, I ordered a Vegetarian Plate and Shafi ordered a Cast Iron Pan Seared Pike. I will tell you that the food was beyond incredible, and even better than what I remembered it to be on my first visit. We had the creme brulee for dessert, and it was delicious!
The next day, we woke up and had a la carte breakfast at Restaurant 85 in the resort. Yours truly loves a good sweet breakfast, while shafi is more of a savoury breakfast guy. The menu had more than ample options to cater to anyones needs!
We followed this breakfast up with a walk around the Hockley Valley Resort grounds. I have to say the resort is so well maintained, and during these challenging times due to COVID-19, the staff and administration have really made it their priority to keep guests safe. There are hand sanitizer stations installed for convenience and masks are mandatory. I must say that both Shafi and I felt very safe during our visit there.
After our little walk, our next stop for the day was the Hockley Valley Resort Spa. I cannot begin to describe how much I had been looking forward to this! We were treated to a Hockley Signature Body Scrub, which was an hour long. I will tell you that my skin was never felt softer and I was so relaxed after!
After the spa visit, we drove down the street to Adamo Estate Winery where we had a delicious lunch OUTSIDE because the weather was incredible!!
Overall, I absolutely LOVED visiting Hockley Valley Resort and it was such a fun restorative overnight stay. You can check them out here and I would highly recommend them for the upcoming ski season and winter dining!
Until next time!
