I am not a board game person. I have a bunch lying around, scrabble being one of them, and we rarely ever play it. Today, I am showing you to up-cycle Scrabble Tiles into easy coasters with some Krazy Glue in under half an hour. How to make Easy DIY Scrabble Tile Coasters
You will need the following supplies. I have provided affiliate links for all.
- Scrabble Tiles
- Cork Coasters
- Krazy Glue All Purpose Precision Tip
- Scissors or Exacto Knife
We are going to start off by first making our words and making sure they fit on the cork sheet coasters.
I went with a 4 by 4 grid, and trimmed off the edges with a scissors. Once you have your words, you can start by CAREFULLY applying the Krazy Glue All Purpose Precision Tip to the back of each scrabble tile (I use the blank side of some tiles, so applied to the letter part on some tiles).
Please read the complete instructions on the pack of Krazy Glue All Purpose Precision Tip to ensure safe application. Once I applied the Krazy Glue, I stuck on the tiles to the cork coaster, and set something heavy on top for a few minutes. The bonding time for Krazy Glue is very fast (~30 seconds), so I did not need to hold the tiles for very long.
Pro tip: Once you have placed your first tile on the edge, use the Precision Tip to apply the Krazy Glue to the sides of the tile to create a seamless look. I did not do this at first, and had to go back in and fill in the gaps between the tiles.
