I have been working really hard behind the scenes decorating Liyana’s playroom for Ramadan using ramadan decor for kids. The playroom is undoubtedly Liyana’s favourite room to play in and also hang out with her grandparents. So adding some kid friendly decor to this room not only made sense but was required! I really think that living in North America, it is imperative that we as Muslim parents try to make Ramadan and Eid as fun and festive as possible for our children, especially with Christmas and other holidays to compare. In our home, we celebrate Ramadan as a family multiple ways and also with our neighbours. This year I also created a Ramadan Basket for Liyana to get her more excited about the arrival of the best month of the year. Kids Ramadan decor is a really fun way to get them into the spirit!
How to Decorate for Ramadan with Kids
For the playroom decor I kept things simple. I used all decor that is inexpensive and pre-owned from previous years. As much as I think it is important to decorate for Ramadan, we truly do not need to spend exorbitant amounts of money to make this month special for them. I DIY’ed this easy sign and hung it in her playroom. I also added some printables I had purchased and reused from Modern Eid in frames I already owned. I love how there are so many options for kids ramadan decor in the market now!
On the other end of the playroom, I added this beautiful handmade Ramadan countdown calendar by Hand Made Beginnings that I purchased three years ago and love reusing year after year. It as an investment when I purchased it but it is one of my favourite pieces of decor!
I kept the playroom minimal and simple in terms of decor because it is already a busy room with toys and colour. The Ramadan decor is fairly neutral and within the colour palette of the playroom!
