3 Tips to Style a Console Table -

I am excited to be sharing these tips on how to style a console table with you today! I recently purchased this Console Table from Structube and have been playing around with it. This entryway got a major transformation recently, with this custom trim accent wall by Broken Skull Designs. Since then, I have been looking for the perfect pieces to style this console table. I recently went to Home Sense Canada after 7-8 months and found everything I needed in one go! That in itself is a miracle! So today, I wanted to share three tips that I have learned from experience while styling a console table. Here are my top three tips!

Tip 1: Add a Focal Point

For us, the focal point here is certainly the wall. I will be adding a painting here in the next few weeks, but I thin the trim work and the mountain peak design is simply beautiful and adds the focal point needed here.

Tip 2: Add Height to Your Console Table and Create Visual Interest

I always start styling console table by adding height. Here I have added height with a tall brass lamp, with beautiful curves and some angles. I wanted to break up the angle on the trim work, and went with this lamp which was a Home Sense find!

I also like to add varying heights. A known design rule is to add height in high, medium, low while styling a console table or any area. For me those, are lamp (high), vase (medium), plant (low). These three elements draw in the eye, and because they are groupings of three, we automatically like this more. Which takes me to my most important tip…

Tip 3: Always Style in Odd Groupings e.g 1,3,5

I always always style anything, especially a console table in odd numbers. Everything here is a group of 3. For e.g. The lamp, books/plant, and beads are a group of 3. To offset this group of three, I placed a lone vase with greenery on the opposite end (also an odd number), to create a sense of asymmetry.
