Baby Registry Essentials for the Home & Nursery
Setting up your changing station:
Every nursery needs a changing station! I’ve got some ideas here to get you started down the right path. How about making yourself a bit more mobile when it comes to diaper changes? I love this Skip Hop Pronto Signature Changing Station for that purpose. It is large enough to hold everything you need for diaper changes, and it’s ready to grab and go to whatever part of the house you’re hanging out in!
When you’re using your actual change table though, I wanted something stylish and cute to fit the aesthetic of the room. My bff Fariha gifted me the Olli Ella Bayu Changing Basket and the organic cotton insert. The basket is so cute and also does the job well! The insert has washed well over the past few months and looks brand new even after several diaper explosions :). This Ubbi Stainless Steel Diaper Pail is stylish and effective. It looks pretty and keeps odours contained, which creates a much cozier nursery environment! These products will make your baby-changing life much easier, guaranteed.

Newborn essentials for sleeping:
Maybe the thing we think about most as new parents is sleep! I have found some products to be more helpful than others when it comes to nighttime or napping. I love this Naturally – eco-forest classic sleeping bag – XL. It gives your baby another layer of warmth without adding bulk and the zipper opens from the bottom, making night time changes so much easier! When it comes to lightweight blankets that are good for sleep or just everyday use, this Little Unicorn Cotton Muslin Original Quilt is so nice and soft and versatile – it has served as the backdrop for Suleimans monthly photos as well as being a stroller cover!
You also need some lighter weight swaddles and this Harry Potter Single Swaddle is light and breezy and has such a fun print! All these options are gender neutral too, which is one of my favourite baby styles.
Bath Time
I don’t know about you, but I find bathing tiny babies stressful. They are slippery and breakable and I’ve always been a sweaty mess by the time the whole thing is over. But that’s changed since I found this Skip Hop Moby Smart Sling 3-Stage Bath Tub from Indigo. He seemed safer in the water with the soft mesh sling cradling him when he was small. I also LOVE that the tub grows with him. I was able to use two positions with the sling and have a nice big tub now that he is big enough to sit on his own. I love giving him a bath using the Frida Baby Skinsoothers which are great for any age. Bath time is usually when we do other little bedtime and hygiene routines, like using this 3-in-1 Nose Nail & Ear Picker and Nosa Frida Snot Sucker (a must – I have had mine now since Liyana was a baby!!!) Both of these products are high quality and get the job done! I love how fresh and clean my baby is by the end of this bath time routine.
The best products for bottle feeding:
Bottle feeding can be so overwhelming, but it really doesn’t have to be complicated. I love my Baby Brezza One Step Instant Warmer for warm water for bottles – Such a great tool. When I have to rewarm bottles, I use the Phillps Avent Warmer and Sterilizer when I needed to sterilize bottles. And for bottles themselves, I recommend the Comotomo Baby Bottle Bundle Green. This bottle mimics breastfeeding as closely as possible, is made from responsible materials, and is designed to be easy to clean. I use the bottles with the Phillips warmer and sterilizer interchangeable. For bottle cleaning, I use these super cute Cacti bottle brushes and boon drying rack. That checks all my bottle feeding boxes!
Newborn Essentials for on the go!
Leaving the house with an infant can feel daunting. You want to know you’ve made good choices for transporting your precious cargo, whether on foot or by car! A baby registry essential I love is this UPPAbaby CRUZ V2 Stroller it has so many great features that you can read about by clicking the link. And the UPPAbaby MESA Infant Car Seat – JAKE is a natural choice to pair with it. The two are compatible, which is essential for switching back and forth between riding and walking.
Being prepared to run out the door quickly is so important when you have a little one! That’s why I love the Skip Hop Pronto Changing Station I purchased from Indigo. The large mesh pocket holds up to four diapers plus creams and other essentials, while the front zippered pocket is perfect for keys, a cell phone, a teething toy, or other personal items. It’s always a good idea to have soothers ready to go too, and I love this Itzy Ritzy Sweetie Soother Mustard 2pk pacifier set with the Itzy Ritzy Paci Pod Pacifier Holder that clips onto the Pronto and keeps these soothers secure and clean. Just drop the Pronto in your bag, strap it to your wrist, or clip it to your stroller and go!
Favourite Toys for Newborns:
I love having just a few high quality, beautiful baby toys. I love this Itzy Ritzy Rattle that doubles as a teething toy with silicone rings and raised textures to soothe baby’s gums as well as entertain him with sounds! LouLou Lollipop makes a really excellent teething toy too that I love for its safe, functional, and beautiful design. Soft and grabbable oversized stacking blocks are definitely a baby must-have too. I love these Bright Starts – Grab & Stack Blocks from Indigo. They have lots of ways to stimulate your baby, including bright colours, fun sounds, and different interesting textures. They will grow with your baby too, and help you introduce them to letters and numbers.

Indigo Essentials for babies
Indigo has the cutest baby clothes around! If you’re looking for a high quality, neutral toned, comfortable and cute, pair-with-anything baby sweater, I’ve got the perfect one for you that I found here. This “Tiny Human” sweater is made from super soft cotton. It is just a lovely gender neutral wardrobe staple for any baby, and it’s easy to hand down to the next sibling or cousin or friend!
And let’s not forget what Indigo is best known for: books! While you are filling your cart with all these other baby registry essentials, don’t forget The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the classic board book that is every small child’s favourite. I also love the Nerdy Babies series and Nikolas Ilic board books.

There you go, some of my favourite baby registry essentials in a one-stop post! That first year is such a blur, with so many firsts for both mama and baby. It’s nice then to have a list of tried, tested and true products to get you through. Don’t forget to enjoy that first year, even though it does go so quickly. I have found the Little Rainbow Memory Book to be a simple, straightforward, and guilt-free way to record your baby’s first year, as one last product recommendation! I hope you enjoy having all these items in your home as much as I do.
