DIY Rose Facial Toner

Beauty· Uncategorized

Hi friends!!

A few weeks ago I shared my skin care routine, which you guys loved! In my routine is a highly coveted rose face toner from Trader Joes, which I grabbed on my last visit to the states. It’s almost run out, which prompted me to put on my DIY hat, and put together this recipe!

The main components of the recipe are rose water, tea tree oil, and witch hazel.

First, to get that rose smell like in our beloved TJ’s toner, I went straight for good old rose water. Rose water has been used for centuries for its anti acne properties. You can also replace this with rose essential oil if you liked.. but I haven’t tried that personally.  I got the rose water at the local Lebanese grocery store. I would recommend you purchase it at a similar store, because it’s a rip-off to buy anywhere else!

Next up, I added tea tree oil by GNC, that I love for so many reasons! Tea tree oil has countless skin benefits, that I will let you look up. A few drops go a long way!

The last ingredient I went for, that is often used in natural skincare, is witch hazel. Witch hazel is used in a large variety of toners because of its properties to reduce skin inflammation and irritation. This makes it perfect for a home-made all natural toner.

These are the proportions of ingredients I used to create a bottle of toner. You can modify it as you like and even add lavender essential oil, or change this up, to have any scent that you like!

6 drops GNC Tea Tree Oil

1/2 cup Rose Water (from the Lebanese grocery store!)

1/4 cup Witch Hazel

Pour above in a measuring cup or beaker, and pour into Amber Glass Spray bottles.  Store in a cool place and use within a few months (I think!). Amber glass bottles are important, because most active products like rose water etc, lose their potency when exposed to light a lot. You can use a clear spray bottle, and store that in a cool dark place too.

This toner turned out so similar to the one from Trader Joes, I will just be making those versus buying it on my trips to the states!
