Hi guys!
This post has been coming for a week now, but with all the craziness that was Match Day for me – its a tad late!
I made this easy DIY last week in anticipation of spring (which it seems like is finally coming!!) and am so excited to share it with you! This DIY took me literally 30-40 minutes and I shared it on my Instagram Stories while I was making it. Detailed instructions are below, as promised 😉
What You Need
1 roll of brown craft paperÂ
Glue gun or Stapler
Twine
Black sharpie marker
Your laptop and a printer
Transfer PaperÂ
Pencil
What you need to do
Figure out how big you want your scroll to be and where it is going.
Start unrolling the craft paper – it will start to roll back up, given that it was rolled tightly around a tube.
Cut it 12 inches longer than what your size is going to be on either end. So you will have 12 inches on either side! These are the 12 inches you are going to roll to give it that scroll look.
Roll on both sides and staple or glue the ends down. I recommend doing only one end first and then the second end once you are done writing your quote or saying
Pick out a quote or saying and get playing in powerpoint. You can download some fun fonts (The one I used here was Watermelon Brush Script from www.dafont.com – download any font from here and click open the folder and hit “instal l font”. It should show up in word/excel/powerpoint on your computer) and go crazy! It took me a few tries to figure out how big the font should be for the scroll words.. But I used size 118 and printed out 1-2 words per page and cut them out
Next place the words with the spacing you would like and start tracing them out one at a time. I filled them in using the black sharpie as I went (caution: black sharpies BLEED through craft paper, so make sure you have cardboard or scrap paper underneath so you don’t stain your working surface!).
Finish up the scroll by rolling and glueing the bottom scroll end putting twine through the top!
- Place where ever you like 🙂
Thats all friends.. it was a super simple DIY. I made another farmhouse scroll last year.. you can also check that out HERE.Â
