Hi friends!
Happy Friday! We made it to the end of another crazyyyy week! I feel like I am saying the same thing every week. Life is just too busy and not in a good way. Truly, I need some down time this weekend.
So this week instead of doing a regular Friday favourites post, I thought I would just catch you up on my life, in case you are interested! If not, no big deal friend! I will see you on the next post 😉
Labour day was a blur - We decided to enjoy the last bit of summer weather we got and went to Andrew's Scenic Acres with our baby girl! They have a beautiful field of flowers and sunflowers that you can pick and we had a blast!
If you are still reading, yay! Hugs for you! So this week, I started a new part time job. I spoke about what I do on my stories, but to catch you up. In my regular life, I am a PhD student in Clinical Psychology and I am currently starting my 4th (and hopefully last year) as a doctoral student. As part of our program, we have to do a few placements in hospitals where we see patients and depending on the nature of the placement, we do either therapy or assessments with them. My particular area of interest is the brain and understanding its function.. so I focus on neuropsychological assessments in my placements. Anyway, to keep it simple - I am also working on the side in a clinic (not a public hospital) where I will see patients for assessments. So thats what I do.. and within our program, we have to apply for residency of sorts to start next Fall. Currently, with all the school stuff/job/placement, I am also working on those applications. Let me tell you.. I hate writing essays about myself and cover letters. But it is the second last thing standing between me and pursuing a career I love, so I will keep on hustling, until I get there and after too!
Next... I finally shared our DIY shiplap wall tutorial with you all! If you missed it, you can find it HERE! Honestly, I am in love with this little area of shiplap.. but dont hate me.. I don't think I want it anywhere else!!! I mean its beautiful, and pretty, but its nice as a tiny accent piece. I wouldn't want walls of it in my house BUT I am glad we did this project and I have some shiplap!
Next.. I am superr excited for this weekend, as it is the weekend of Christie's Antique Fair!! And the best part (in addition to vintage hunting!), some of us from Instagram are planning on meeting up at the fair!! I am looking forward to meeting some of the amazing people behind the beautiful feeds we see and I will definitely take you all along! Stay tuned tomorrow, for some Instagram story fun!
Thats all for this week - but stay tuned because next week, I will be sharing some fun DIY's (including a book wreath.. check out my Instagram stories before they expire!) and our dining room all decorated for fall!
Lots of hugs!
