  • These are the longest shortest times. This is NOT how our weekend went... lovingly looking into each other’s eyes, while holding hands 😂 how was your weekend? .
.
.
I kid you not, this weekend felt LONG. Yesterday, I think the word “mama” was said about 5 million and one times, in all the different ways possible. 🙇🏻‍♀️ .
.
.
This is the hardest season of motherhood I’ve been in, thus far. While I’m not sleep deprived, leaking milk, or cleaning diaper blow outs... I really feel like I’m drowning. I may have texted my husband several times “that’s it I’m quitting residency and coming back home because I can’t do this alone”. And not to say, he doesn’t know what I’m going through - oh he does.. just having single-parented for three months. So he gets it. And he had exactly the same melt downs in that time.. it’s just a hard time all around. .
.
.
But then there are times when liyana will look at me for any and all approval, spontaneously come and give me hugs and kisses, come to me and only me because “mama chot lag gayi” (mama I got hurt). And I think that, yes it’s hard. Yes this is not easy.. but this is also a season of life, which I will yearn for when it’s gone (trust me, I think this after she’s asleep, because I definitely don’t have that clarity in the moment). .
.
.
♥️ So here I am, reminding you that whatever season of life you may be in (packing lunches, tantrums, leaking boobs or all of the above 🤪), you will get through it. The days are long but the years are surely short. Hang in there, mama! .

  • Yesterday I shared on my stories with you why I take on sponsored posts. I received tons of messages about how you appreciated my transparency. Here’s a bit more about how this account got started and grew. .
.
I started this Instagram account in June 2015, when my husband and I got the keys for our first house. It was a source of inspiration, where I could get ideas for home decor. I barely posted anything until June 2016, after liyana was born and I was on parental leave and struggling with post-partum depression. I used this platform then, to find a new side of my personality that had been missing until then - the creative side of me that I hadn’t been in touch with for many years. .
.
.
Last year in February 2018, I got my very first sponsored post. It wasn’t just product for post, but they wanted to pay me. I remember calling my husband and shrieking on the phone and he probably held the phone a foot away from his ear... because I probably was talking as fast and as high pitch as possible 😂 .
.
.
A year later, this Instagram has taken a life of its own. Alhamdullillah, this month, I surpassed a financial goal I had for myself and none of that would have been possible without YOU. Your support in any which way - DMs, comments, likes, shares, emojis you send me on my stories.. all mean SO much. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you in a huge way, and I just wanted to say thank you. .
.
.
And the real purpose behind the sponsored posts is two fold: I only take on projects that feel genuine, real, and fit with ME. Second, I often think if I it were me on the other end, and I was reading that caption... would I be rolling my eyes so hard they fall out of their sockets OR would I say “ oh yea that’s me too”. If it’s in the latter, then that tells me that I am doing my job in serving you, and not blindly pushing products in your face. .
.
.
So again, thank you for appreciating that message of mine, and for your endless support. I wish I could give each and everyone of you a giant hug and tight squeeze! .
.
.
Have a beautiful long weekend friends 💗💗💗

  • I just cannot wear gloves while washing dishes... everytime i do wear gloves, I end up with broken dishes. Anyone else have this problem?! .
.
[sponsored]Hence, I always have super dry skin, because of all that soap exposure. .
.
I’ve recently been using @gnccanada vitamin E oil to give my hands some life in this dry, cold weather. I’ve been actually using it at work and at home, and this oil is so fabulous! It’s supposed to be good for anti aging, removing any scars off your skin, and for folks with dry skin like mine.. it can keep itchiness and eczema at bay!

Check out @gnccanada for all your health and wellness needs at a store or online and use code⭐️⭐️34903🌟🌟 to get $10 off a $50 purchase in store and online!!! .

  • Both my valentines featured in the same photo - can you spot liyana?
.
.
hint: I was 36 weeks pregnant at this time (March 2016)
.
.
Yes, I have a partner. This guy, to be exact. He barely is featured on here, because of his own peeves with Instagram and you know this thing called privacy 😝
.
.
.
♥️Just wanted to share him today, for being my forever valentine.♥️
.
.
We have a pretty awesome valentine pact since 2008, that we wrote on a napkin while having coffee after a very expensive Valentine’s Day. .
.
Basically, this guy went out and got me two dozen roses, a dozen roses for my mom and my sister, and showed up to our house. .
.
This is back when we were both students, had no jobs, and were basically broke. So, for him to go out and do that was in one word INSANE. But that’s how he is - he always puts others who he loves first. .
.
.
So following that, we made a pact on a napkin, that we wouldn’t spend more than $20 on any given Valentine’s Day, and absolutely NO ROSES. It’s been working pretty well so far 😉
.
.
Happy valentines/galentines/palentines day - whatever it is you celebrate or don’t, I hope you have a beautiful day filled with kindness, happiness and joy! .
